21 Nov Women in Construction Networking
Last week we sponsored the Women in Construction networking lounge at London Build, which is the largest meet-up of women in the industry, Lisa Taylor gave an inspiring speech ahead of the networking session; explaining why it’s important for us and other companies to address the skills shortage gap and why having a diverse workforce brings more collaboration and innovation. It was great to network with a whole host of Women in Construction Ambassadors who are furthering equality in the built environment.
Alongside the sponsorship of the women in construction networking lounge, we were asked to join a discussion panel, in which Villie Xeni was a part of the panel discussed a number of significant topics including; empowering women in construction, deep-diving into unconscious bias and communication issues, defying stereotypes and the impact of imposter syndrome, the credibility of women in the industry and what a diverse workforce bring to the table and celebrating the importance of allies within our businesses.
We were thrilled to advocate for this event for the second year running and we find it truly inspiring to see the topic being discussed at such impactful, highly attended events. We know we still have a long way to go to create a more balanced workforce within construction, but we’re honoured to be part of the change.
