LGW14, Woking

Woking, Surrey

Value: £11m

This project was carried out by senior members of our team prior to the formation of MiCiM

LGW14 comprised the fit-out of a fallow space on the second floor of an existing live Data Centre. The project provided 1500sqM of new data hall space, with the fit-out forming new walls and raised access flooring for the data hall along with the supporting technical spaces for mechanical and electrical plant. The technical spaces comprised four new electrical switch-rooms with UPS modules and attendant battery rooms adjacent, new chillers, mounted on the roof with acoustic barriers installed over and mechanical plant rooms containing pumps and pressurisation units. The project involved linking the new switch-rooms to the existing live power and generator infrastructure and testing this without impact to the live facility. Fire detection and security were also extended throughout the fit-out area and gas suppression provided to the data hall and electrical plant-rooms.
