When I reflect on the huge variety projects that I have been involved with and the people that I have met over the years it gives me a great sense of pride in what I have been able to achieve. I have always striven to get the best out of those who work with me which has generated many great and lasting friendships and I trust will lead to many more.
Richard has 47 years’ experience covering many sectors of the construction industry.
Starting as a trainee quantity surveyor working on commercial development and public-sector projects he has subsequently held Director level positions with several national contractors.

Outside of work Richard enjoys playing badminton, pilates, driving fast cars and exploring new places.
Project Director
My personal goal for MiCiM is to continue to build the strength in depth of our team, and to expand our offering to clients without compromising our ethos of honesty and quality of delivery. Also building stronger relationships with our clients, and the other stakeholders in our projects who will then want to continue to come back with repeat business.
Chris has 38 years of experience in construction covering many sectors of the industry. Being qualified in both Building and Building services he has always fostered a collaborative and coordinated approach to the delivery of projects that bring construction and technical services together rather than the historic them and us attitude.
This approach is particularly useful and successful in the delivery of critical services projects where communication, co-ordination and clear make ready needs are key to the success of the venture. From the late ’90’s he has specialised in Data Centre and critical services projects.
His philosophy has always been to create a “joined up” team approach from clients, consultants, disciplines and trades to deliver what the client expects
When not working Chris enjoys walking, motorbikes, music and playing tennis – although his wife always beats him!

Operations Manager (MEP)
Although an out of the box thinker, I still consider myself primarily a strategist as opposed to a tactician and favour a collaborative Project Management approach with a focus on early engagement of all key stakeholders to identify and resolve any potential problems before they become actual problems…
Steve is an experienced and motivated manager of multi-discipline and diverse projects across a wide range of industry sectors with demonstrable success in the delivery of technically complex and innovative applications particularly within scientific research and mission critical sectors.
Steve is a big supporter of early commissionability, prefabrication and modularisation strategies to de-risk project delivery and provide better clarity and certainty of cost and programme requirements. Steve is always looking for new and innovative technologies and approaches to further support the success of the project.
Aside from work Steve has two lovely, amazingly talented and equally demanding young children who keep him on his toes and most of their down time is spent together. Senior Commissioning Project Manager
“By espousing the leadership qualities demonstrated by those whom I best admire, building bridges and uniting people I love to manage commissioning. The engineering challenge of a mission critical project is what gets me out of bed every morning and I am always looking to change processes for the better. I like to think have the best job in the world.”.
Steve brings over 30 years’ engineering experience in fields as diverse as commercial, semi-conductor, pharmaceutical, data centre and oil & gas. His specialist field however is in the management of the all-crucial commissioning phase of a project. Steve believes firmly that the road to success is by logical process planning, backed up with rigorous scrutiny of each individual project.
Through Steve’s formative years commissioning pharmaceutical plants in Belgium he adopted a powerful analytical method of commissioning planning in relation to all the other disciplines. This model has delivered time and again and now underpins MiCiM’s approach on every project.
Steve joined MiCiM in early 2019 having forged strong bonds with many of its founder members over the years. Nothing motivates him like the chance to weld all the diverse commissioning specialists on a project into a focused team and then shepherding them all together to achieve a successful outcome. Steve’s client-side experience also equips him with insight about what our clients want from their facilities, not only from a high standard of compliance with industry standards but in quality and promptness of handover and documentation.
Away from work Steve is keen on studying science, astronomy and history with a keen interest in military affairs past and present. He finds relaxation through painting, when not going to cinema, theatre or live football with his family.
